Under the new GP contract we need to offer additional services for patients who have suffered a stroke (CVA) or TIA (mini stroke). You may be referred to the hospital for a series of tests in order to confirm a suspected diagnosis. Patients who have history of stroke/TIA will be invited to attend a special clinic where the practice nurse will check your blood pressure / cholesterol / smoking status and medication.
