Sign inInfluenza vaccination is offered every year from September. We strongly recommend that patients suffering from diseases such as heart disease, asthma/COPD, diabetes, stroke, renal disease or immuno-suppressed are vaccinated on a yearly basis. Patients aged over 65 years are also recommended to have a flu injection as are those patients who live in nursing or residential homes as they are vulnerable from others. Certain people who are employed in nursing and residential homes as well as those working in the community are also recommended to protect themselves with a flu injection. Flu clinics are done in block booking so if you haven’t been given an appointment by reception please contact the surgery early to ensure your vaccination is completed.
Children aged 2 and 3 years and are not in an ‘at risk group’ are now entered into the Flu vaccination programme from 2013. This Flu immunisation for children is via a nasal spray
